Dopo il massacro di Rabaa, in cui centinaia di manifestanti pro-Morsi sono stati uccisi dalle forze di sicurezze egiziane, molti membri dei Fratelli Musulmani hanno iniziato a riversare la propria vendetta verso la comunità cristiana, accusata di aver appoggiato il golpe. Nel nord dell’Egitto diverse comunità cristiane sono state aiutate dalla popolazione musulmana a difendersi e mettersi al riparo durante gli attacchi dei gruppi islamisti.
Diverse chiese sono state bruciate; in totale, tra luoghi di culto e strutture di proprietà di cristiani, ad ora gli edifici assaltati sono 20. Di seguito l’elenco, fornito all’Huffington Post da alcune Ong operanti sul campo.
