India police arrests Italian ship crew over shooting of two fishermen
di Alessandro Batazzi Two Italian marines were arrested Wednesday 15 February for shooting and killing two Indian fishermen off the coast of the southern Indian state of Kerala. The marines were part of a security team guarding Italy-registered oil tanker “Enrica Lexie”, who was approached by the fishing boat allegedly acting aggressively. The fishermen on board ignored warning shots and the marines opened fire mistaking them for pirates but there are two sides to the story.
